Caffe Vita Coffee Roasters

Shift Lead

Caffe Vita Coffee Roasters is a nationally recognized coffee brand, with roasting locations in Seattle and New York City. A frequent participant in National Coffee Competitions, Vita trained their staff beyond the typical scope of coffee roasters in cupping, milk art, and public speaking.

​

Responsibilities included standard barista and coffee preparation duties, monthly coffee cuppings for palette training and market assessment, and coaching barista competition participants on public speaking. Work was conducted in both Manhattan and Brooklyn locations.

Rudy's Bakery

Cafe Staff

Rudy's Bakery is a historic German-American bakery and cafe in Ridgewood, NY that has been serving the Ridgewood community for over 80 years. Rudy's offers a broad selection of classic Italian and German-American desserts, as well as food and espresso drinks.

​

Responsibilities touched all functions of the bakery including cake writing, line cook functions, stocking, taking custom cake orders, barista service, and regular cafe maintenance. I also provided minor illustration work, for product announcements and holiday decor.

FoMu Ice Cream

Shift Lead

Fomu Ice Cream is a small batch Boston ice cream chain that uses sustainable, local ingredients to develop vegan and allergen-free desserts. Fomu's products are all natural and plant-based, including the compostable utensils and cups their desserts are served in.

 

Responsibilities included preparation of espresso drinks, distribution of Fomu vegan ice cream and pastries, and illustration of Fomu packaging and signage. As shift lead, I offered guidance to junior servers on staff to maximize productivity during the work day.

 

Taza Chocolate

Chocolate Barista

Taza Chocolate is a direct trade bean-to-bar chocolate company that offers a variety of chocolate products prepared in the traditional Oaxacan style. In addition to bar chocolate, Taza utilizes its Oaxacan stone mills to prepare drinks, juices, chocolate bark, and more.

Responsibilities included preparing Taza chocolate drinks at the Taza Chocolate Bar, representing Taza Chocolate at local Boston events, managing customer service relationships as a retail representative, and minor illustration duties for special events.

 

Boston Tea Party Museum

Colonial Tea Server

The Boston Tea Party Museum is an immersive history experience that recreates one key night in the American Revolution. The tour ends in Abigail's Tea Room, where visitors enjoy tea blends imitating those jettisoned into the harbor during the Boston Tea Party.

​

Responsibilities as a Colonial Tea Server included acting as line cook for lunchtime meals, independently running the colonial bakery, serving historically accurate teas, and serving historically accurate alcoholic beverages during the museum's 21+ tavern nights.

 

Regal Cinemas

Concessionist

Regal Entertainment Group is one of the largest theatre circuits in the United States, consisting of over 500 theaters in 43 states. At Regal Cinemas in Bellingham, MA, attentive staff and tasty concessions provide unbeatable customer service to movie patrons.

​

I am grateful to Regal Cinemas for granting me my first paid position as an usher, ticketer, and concessionist. Additionally, as Regal's Stars of Hope Charity representative, I was able to raise non-profit donations by 50% in Bellingham theaters.
